About Klued
A small crossword, every day
Klued is a free daily mini crossword. Each day brings one fresh grid, small enough to finish over coffee and tricky enough to feel good when the last square falls. There is nothing to sign up for. Just open today's puzzle and start typing.
How to play
- Tap a square to select it. Tap it again, or tap the clue bar, to switch between across and down.
- Type to fill in letters. The cursor skips squares you have already filled.
- When you finish a word, Klued jumps to the next clue you haven't finished.
- Stuck? The lightbulb menu can check or reveal a square, a word, or the whole puzzle.

Questions
Is Klued free?
Yes. Every puzzle, including the whole archive, is free to play. There is no subscription and no paywall.
Do I need an account?
No. Open the site and start solving. Your progress, stats and settings are saved in your browser on this device.
When does a new puzzle come out?
A new puzzle is released every day at 10:00 PM UTC. The home page always shows the newest one.
How big are the puzzles?
Klued is a mini crossword. Grids range from 5×5 to 9×9 and most take a few minutes. Monday and Tuesday are 5×5, midweek grids grow a little, and Friday through Sunday run up to 9×9.
Can I play past puzzles?
Yes. Open the menu and choose Archive to pick any earlier puzzle from the calendar. Each puzzle also has its own numbered link, like klued.app/1.
How do hints work?
Tap the lightbulb to check a square, a word or the whole puzzle, or to reveal them. Checked letters that are wrong turn red. Revealed letters are marked, and a solve that used checks or reveals is counted as assisted in your stats.
How do streaks work?
Your streak counts puzzles in a row that you solved before the next one came out. Solving older puzzles from the archive adds to your total but not to your streak.
Will my progress be saved?
Yes, automatically, in this browser. If you clear your browser data or switch devices, your progress and stats start fresh.
Can I put Klued on my home screen?
Yes. In Safari on iPhone, tap Share and then Add to Home Screen. In Chrome, open the menu and choose Install app or Add to Home screen. Klued then opens full screen like an app.
